Alice suffers from chronic atopic dermatitis (eczema) since her childhood

“I suffer from chronic atopic dermatitis (eczema) since my childhood. It’s a very annoying condition, not only because it makes your skin red and itchy, but also because it tends to flare periodically. As a result, my treatment cream would always expire before I would need it again! I remember, when I was very young, my father would always have to call the doctor to get a new prescription for me. My condition is getting better with age, but if only there had been an OTC option in the pharmacy at the time, it would have saved my dad’s time and money, and the waiting time for me to get my treatment. Now I rely on treatments and self-care measures to prevent new outbreaks.”  Alice (28, Italy)

Emma shares her experience with self-care during pregnancy

“I am pregnant for 6 months now. Since, together with my partner, we have made the decision to have a baby, I was advised by my gynecologist to start taking folic acid, which I continue taking throughout the pregnancy as part of vitamins and minerals complex intended for pregnant women. The pregnancy start was not easy – I have turned to natural remedies to help me cope with morning sickness. I am feeling great now and am looking forward to meeting my baby.” Emma (32, Ireland)

Jacques suffers from frequent heartburn

“I am a business man and need to travel regularly for work. Often because of stress and tiredness, I am prone to tormenting heartburns after meals. This is really an annoyance, especially when I have meetings planned and do not have time to just get a rest. Fortunately, I can always expect my symptoms to improve by taking an antacid tablet from the local pharmacy.” Jacques (45, France)

Eoin suffers from arthritis

“Life has given me several good moments and a big loving family but, with it, came also the burdens of age. I have been diagnosed with arthritis which, in times of crisis, can be somewhat painful and very limiting. Joints become swollen and stiff, sometimes red, and it feels very uncomfortable even to carry out everyday tasks. I don’t like taking too many pills, so I usually have anti-inflammatory patches that do the trick in my back. If the pain is restricted to a small area, like wrist or knuckles, I usually get relief from the cream. They told me I could do prevention, but I’ve never tried. I guess being stubborn also aggravated with age.” Eoin (72, Ireland)
