AESGP Annual Report 2025: Prevention through Self-Care

Berlin, 3 June 2026The Association of the European Self‑Care Industry (AESGP) has published its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting a year of strong advocacy, collaboration, and strategic engagement in support of self-care and resilient healthcare systems across Europe.

Set against an increasingly complex regulatory, geopolitical, and economic environment, the report outlines AESGP’s key activities and policy priorities throughout 2025. It reflects the association’s continued role as a trusted expert voice on critical EU legislative files, including the implementation of the Medical Devices Regulation (MDR), the revision of the General Pharmaceutical Legislation, ongoing discussions on vitamins and minerals, and major environmental sustainability initiatives such as the Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (UWWTD).

The Annual Report also showcases AESGP’s work under its four strategic priorities: strengthening the competitiveness of the European self-care industry; promoting health literacy and digital empowerment; fostering innovation through a simplified and coherent regulatory framework; and advancing sustainability in a balanced and proportionate way that safeguards access, affordability, and people’s choice.

With prevention through self-care as a guiding theme throughout the year, the report highlights the essential contribution of self-care to public health, disease prevention, and the long-term sustainability of European healthcare systems.

Jonathan Workman, AESGP President, said:

“As this Annual Report demonstrates, 2025 was a year of significant advocacy, collaboration, and strategic positioning for AESGP. I want to thank our members, partners, and stakeholders for their continued trust, expertise, and commitment. Together, we will continue to work towards a future in which self-care is fully recognised, supported, and celebrated as a cornerstone of sustainable healthcare in Europe.”

Jurate Svarcaite, AESGP Director General, commented:

“2025 was a defining year for self-care in Europe. This Annual Report reflects AESGP’s continued commitment to constructive dialogue, pragmatic regulation, and policies that empower people, support innovation, and strengthen the sustainability of healthcare systems.”
