Brussels, 12 June 2024 – The Association of the European Self-Care Industry (AESGP) has released its Annual Report for 2023. The report highlights the strength of the AESGP network, its leadership and contributions in the regulatory and policy areas, and its initiatives to strengthen self-care in Europe.
The year 2023 stands out as another period marked by significant global challenges, including geopolitical conflicts, economic uncertainties, and increasing pressures on healthcare systems. The European self-care industry, led by AESGP in close collaboration with its members and partners, has demonstrated resilience and proved its continued relevance, reinforcing its crucial role in promoting societal sustainability and individual well-being.
Key highlights
- New AESGP study underscores the vital support of self-care to healthcare professionals and the delivery of better health outcomes for all.
- Significant legislative engagements, particularly with the implementation of the Medical Devices Regulation and proposed revisions to the General Pharmaceutical Legislation. AESGP has proactively engaged with the European Parliament and Council to advocate for balanced regulations that protect access to essential self-care products.
- Sustainability as a core part of AESGP’s mission, notably through the creation of a new Environmental Sustainability Committee and partnerships with several other European associations to advance the green transition.
